Nurse Practitioners Appointments available to book online from w/c 8th May. These appointments are bookable for problems regarding:
- Acute back pain, joint sprains
- Acute chest infection, respiratory flair ups, hay fever
- Blood pressure issues
- Conjunctivitis, sticky discharging eye, sty, eye infections/allergies
- Diarrhoea, constipation, piles, IBS
- Dizziness, giddiness, unusual headaches, migraines
- Earache, swollen glands
- Oral thrush
- Raised temperature that does not improve after pharmacists’ advice and home treatment
- Rashes
- Shingles
- Skin conditions: moles, eczema, acne
- Tonsillitis, cough, sinusitis, sore throat, colds and flu-like illnesses. (Please note: a cough may persist for up to three or four weeks after other cold/flu symptoms have gone.)
- Urinary tract infections, vaginal thrush, soreness, lump or discharge
- Vomiting
- Wound Infections, scalds, burns
Nurse Practitioners are educated to degree level to achieve a high standard of patient care. They are qualified to assess patients’ physical, psychological and social needs and to diagnose and implement agreed management plans with patients, including appropriate prescribing and referrals to specialists. They work closely with the GPs to provide a comprehensive service of care and management of patients with chronic ongoing disease.
