All patients with diabetes will be invited for yearly checks, either at the surgery or in hospital.
If you have type 2 diabetes, you will need to have an annual appointment for a blood test and checks. You will also be asked to submit 7 days home blood pressure readings (through the online eConsult platform). The results from the blood test and checks and the blood pressure readings are then reviewed, and following this, you may be invited for a review with the diabetic nurse.
If you have type 1 diabetes you will most likely be seen at the hospital, but we may also invite you for further tests at the surgery.
