Salaried GPs
In addition to the GP Partners and Salaried GPs, the Quarter Jack Surgery is an approved training practice and is involved in training tomorrow’s doctors. At times, with your consent, you may be seen by our Registrar or a medical student. Our Registrars are qualified doctors who are gaining experience in a GP practice.
Nurse practitioners
Nurse Practitioners (also known as Advanced Nurse Practitioners) are educated to degree level to achieve a high standard of patient care. They are qualified to assess patients’ physical, psychological and social needs and to diagnose and implement agreed management plans with patients, including appropriate prescribing and referrals to specialists. They work closely with the GPs to provide a comprehensive service of care and management of patients with chronic ongoing disease.

Practice nurses have the responsibility for the delivery of practice nursing services, working as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population.

Health care assistants
Health care assistants (HCA’s) support the practice nursing team in the delivery of nursing services. The HCA’s will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education. They can carry out baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, recording findings accurately, undertake wound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required.
Phlebotomists
Phlebotomists make sure that the diagnosis of illness is done quickly and safely by taking blood samples which are examined in a laboratory. Results from this can be used to quickly diagnose diseases and conditions.
PCN team
Clinicians and staff from the Primary Care Network (PCN) team assist and hold clinics at The Quarter Jack Surgery. These include GP, MSK, Health Coach and Social Prescriber sessions. The PCN Team that currently work at our surgery are:
