FLU CLINICS

If you are in a risk group and would like a flu vaccination please contact the surgery.  It is advisable to book your vaccination in September every year as we always start clinics in October.   Vaccination for patients not in a risk group is available for a small charge from many local pharmacies.

You can use the online repeat prescription form on this web site for requesting medication which your doctor or nurse has put 'on repeat'.

It is not available for 'acute' medication (given to you for acute problems) or items which the clinician has given you to try.  Examples of acute medication are antibiotics for a urine infection or cream for a rash.

Repeat items are given for a specific amount of time before you need a review, usually 6, 9 or 12 months.  You will find the date that the review is due after each medication on your repeat slip or your blue card if you have one.  Please be aware of your review date and book any necessary blood tests in plenty of time before your review appointment.  Blood tests are usually needed 2 weeks before  cardiac and diabetic appointments.

Thyroid problems are usually reviewed from a blood test result once a year.

Some medication reviews are undertaken by a Specialist Nurse and therefore there is no need to see a GP to update your medication, these include:

  • Cardiac
  • Asthma
  • Family Planning
  • Diabetes (shared between Dr Tan and Nurse Jane)

Please check your Repeat Request History after 2 working days which will tell you if your request has been approved.

Prescriptions for dispensing patients will be dispensed by Boots on-site pharmacy.
