Patient Participation Group

The Quarter Jack Surgery Patient Participation Group (PPG), commonly known as The Friends of the Practice, is essentially a number of people from a variety of backgrounds, who each bring something different to the group to support the practice. Its members are volunteer patients who work with the practices managers and clinicians to support and promote the best possible health care for all patients. For further information please see our PPG FAQ’s page.

The following are just some of a number of areas that the PPG are involved with which you could get involved in:

Transport

We have a team of volunteers who may be able to help with transport to and from the surgery. We can also sometimes help with hospital transport if given enough notice. If you are having difficulty in attending appointments, please ask the surgery to pass on your details and we will contact you to offer any help available. We do not charge for this service but request a donation towards fuel costs. Are you able to offer driving services? You can be a driver without attending meetings – please complete the form below to find out more.

Fundraising

We hold occasional events such as coffee mornings and raffles to raise funds for much needed equipment. We have recently purchased the following for use in the surgery:

  • Examination light (used in consultation rooms)
  • Doppler (measures blood supply)
  • Oximeters (measures oxygen in blood)
  • Home Blood Pressure Monitors
  • ECG machines
  • Vaccination fridge

And we have contributed to the setup cost of this interactive website. Do you have a flair for fundraising and could spare a little time to help us hold these events please complete the form below to find out more?

Secretarial

Could you help with handling correspondence, keeping information up to date or any other administration type tasks? If so, please complete the form below to find out more.

General Help

We are always looking for any help. In addition to the roles mentioned above there are many many tasks that need completing. These can be small or more in-depth tasks. These can be regular or ad-hoc. If you think you could assist in anyway, please complete the form below so we can get in contact to find out how.

As mentioned, if you would like to join our group or are just interested to find out more, please fill in your contact details below to submit the form and we will be in contact.
